The international City Climate Catalogue is the first global attempt to collect and centralise facts and figures on community climate action – from targets to achievements. It has been developed and will be used by the City of Copenhagen, host of the COP 15 (15th Conference of the Parties) in December 2009, together with ICLEI, during the current international climate negotiations on a post-2012 global climate agreement.
The purpose of the City Climate Catalogue is to draw attention to ambitious local climate agendas prior to and during the COP 15. It also serves to emphasise the argument that communities are important actors and should be included in the United Nations climate collaboration. The catalogue will be used as a promotional tool at COP 15 and at the Copenhagen Climate Summit for Mayors.
